Hello! Welcome to the first blog of Spot The Difference 2015.
We are sorry that you have been waiting a few days but we have been so busy having fun! There will definitely be one every day from now on though 🙂
Since arriving on Sunday, the children have had an amazing time getting stuck into loads of brilliant activities. On Sunday afternoon we all explored the site and got to know our groups loads with some great wide games.
On Monday we stayed on site and all got the chance to design our own superhero cape, and learn some incredible circus skills including diablos, stilts and juggling. Everyone enjoyed preparing some fantastic circus skill routines and performing them with the rest of the group.
Today, we have been off-site for the first time at Conkers. While there we all got the chance to explore the lovely sunny new forest, nature trails and play areas, alongside discovering our inner Bear Grylls with Bushcraft, including making dens and toasting marshmallows with our group.
As always on Spot we have our usual packed itinerary in between our activities, including swimming every day in our amazing pool, watching the recent blockbuster hit Home, and the ever popular 7 o’clock game!
In our Bible Study sessions and evening meetings we are spending the week looking at what an amazing superhero Jesus is. So far this has included the prophecies leading up to Jesus, his miracles – with a particular focus on raising Lazarus – and today looking at parables.
Tomorrow we are off for a, hopefully sunny, walk, along with more swimming, bible study, games, films and fun!
Make the Difference, our amazing and unique leadership training holiday for 15-17 year olds, have had a great time so far. They have already been getting stuck into serving the Spot the Difference children through enjoying working hard in the kitchen, running the tuck shop, taking part in drama and supporting meetings. All they while Make have been learning about the fundamentals of Christian leadership through investigating Jesus in the gospels and exploring and identifying their Spiritual gifts, Heart, Abilities, Passion and Experience, and how they all come together to make them ready to serve God where they are now. While doing all of this they even had time to have an amazing day out at Drayton Manor Theme Park and make some world-class smoothies.
We will let you know about all the amazing things we get up to tomorrow.
